Painting Live at the 107th Running of the Indy 500
This year I got out to Indianapolis Motor Speedway at 4:30 am to get set up for a full day of painting. Each year this is my favorite day of painting all year long. I quickly got to work painting the sunrise when the Cannon blast went off. When looking at the forecast, I feared it would be a boring moment, but there was just enough of a break in the clouds to provide a really cool blast of yellow light into the morning.
I finished this painting and quickly got started on my main painting of the day, an 18x24” painting of the Pagoda, Yard of Bricks, and Josef Newgarden narrowly edging out Marcus Ericcson for the win!
