Painting Live at the 2021 Indy 500

he 105th running of the Indianapolis 500. Congrats Helio Castroneves on your 4th win!!! Such an incredible race and I feel so lucky to be out there painting it. A huge thank you to Lauren Guidotti & everyone at Indianapolis Motor Speedway for the opportunity. It’s hands down my favorite day of painting every year. One of the things I love most about the Indy 500 is how it is just one giant family. One of these photos is with the two “yellow shirts” that manage my area. I’ve been doing this 4 years and it’s always been the same father and son team, Jerry & Joe. (Jerry took the photo of me painting, him and Joe are usually the only people I talk to all day.) Like most yellow shirts, they don’t do it for money, they are just passionate about racing and the culture surrounding the Indy 500. Last year without fans was just not the same. The Indy 500 is waaaay more than just a race and I’m honored to be a small part in its giant family.
