I attended Triton Elementary School for 4th, 5th, & 6th grade, and last spring I was invited back by their principal to be the guest speaker for their annual "Trojan PRIDE" convocation.  Jeremy Riffle, the Principal, tried to manage my expectations that this day was a big deal for their students and I don't know what I was expecting but it was such an incredible day to be a part of.  To see so much school pride & the energy level of the students was totally inspiring.  Trojan PRIDE is the Triton Elementary Positive Behavior Intervention Supports and is the recognition all of the hard work and effort that staff and students have put into showing characteristics they strive to achieve at Triton (Personal Responsibility, Respect, Integrity, Determination and Enthusiasm).   The student from each classroom that best demonstrates & lives all of these characteristics is awarded a t-shirt that they can then wear the rest of the year with pride.  I was honored to help unveil the 2014-2015 Official Trojan PRIDE t-shirt for their students to see for the first time.

I also had the opportunity to honor my 4th grade teacher, Mrs. Reese.  She retired last year & has been a loyal supporter of my artwork & even came to one of my shows this summer.  I wasn't sure if she knew that I was the guest of honor as the school keeps that a secret until the convo so I reached out to Mrs. Reese the day before to give the heads up I was coming.  When she showed up Principal Riffle thought it would be an awesome idea to present her with a Trojan Pride shirt & I agreed.

While there I also presented the school with a painting that will hang permanently in their lobby.
